Who can advertise on ETC Trading Time?

ETC3’s “Trading Time” TV Show and web classifieds are intended to assist individuals in the selling of their personal items, or in locating items they wish to purchase.  “Trading Time” is not intended as an outlet for the sale of merchandise by established business or commercial enterprises.

What it the cost to register on this site?

Nothing. There are no registration fees for buyers or sellers.

What if I  am having trouble uploading my photos?

The most common reason people have trouble uploading pictures is because their photo files are too big. Most people using a digital camera to take photos set it at the highest resolution. While this results in an excellent, highly detailed photo that is great to share with family and friends, the file size is often 10 megapixels or more, much too large to upload to the internet. (It's a bit like trying to put an 8x10 picture into a 3x5 frame!)  When taking pictures for Trading Time or other web applications, you should reset your camera for the lowest possible quality/resolution. Go thru the menu options on your camera and look for the photo quality or resolution setting. Set that to the lowest quality or resolution setting. This will result in a much smaller data file (usually 1.2 megapixels or less) that should upload easily.

Most digital cameras come with photo editing software that allows you to edit or manipulate your pictures. If you have photo editing software, you can "resize" your picture to make it smaller so that it will upload easily. The optimum size for our website is 800 by 600 pixels. If you don't have picture editing software, you can resize your photos on line for free at www.citrify.com, a free photo editing website.

If you continue to have trouble uploading your photos, post your ad without pictures, and send the photos, along with the title of your ad, to the administrator at tradingtime@etcmail.com and he will attach them to your ad for you.

How much does it cost for sellers to place listings?

What can I sell on “Trading Time?”

Just about anything can be listed for sale or trade on both the “Trading Time” website and TV show.   All items for sale must be the sole property of the seller and in the seller’s possession at the time of listing.

Are any items prohibited?

“Trading Time” will not accept listings for items that would be considered offensive or not “family friendly.”   No commercial or business announcements will be accepted.

What about Real Estate?

“Trading Time” will accept listings for real estate for sale or rent by Owner only.  No listings will be accepted from professional real estate brokers or agents.

May I sell a dog or cat on Trading Time?

Ads offering dogs, cats and other pets, as well as livestock and other animals will be accepted from individual owners only.  No professional breeders, stables or livestock dealers.

Is this site secure?

Yes. Your transactions are protected by the latest encryption technology.

How do I find what I'm looking for?

You have several options:

  • We offer a "quick search" bar at the top of our pages for you to enter keywords and categories to search.
  • We offer an Advanced Search page for you to refine your search criteria.
  • If you already know what you are looking for you can browse the categories listed on the left side of the site's pages.

What if I am looking for an item, rather than trying to sell something?

“Trading Time” will accept listings from individuals searching for a specific item to purchase.  When entering your classified ad information on line, please enter the word “WANTED” in capital letters at the beginning of the Headline, to indicate you are seeking the listed item.

Can I save items to revisit later?

Yes. You can maintain your own "favorites" list within your account. Each listing on our site has an "add to favorites" link. Simply click that link and we will add that item to your favorites list.

What if I can't find what I am looking for?

You can set up search filters within your account area. Our site will then screen all new listings, as they are placed on the site, and if an item is listed that meets your filter (search) criteria, we will automatically send you an email notification.

How do buyers and sellers communicate with each other?

We provide buyers with the ability to contact the seller through a form that is accessible on each of the seller's listing pages. The seller will then be notified by email of the buyer's questions and the seller can either reply by email or log in to their account and reply through our onsite messaging system. The seller can choose to keep their email address anonymous.
